How to Copy and Paste | Windows

This SR is applicable to users who do not know how to copy and paste. This will only work for Windows computers (not tablets, phones, or iOS computers).


Standard Response:


To copy and paste on Windows, kindly follow the steps below:


1. Locate the text you wish to copy and paste.

2. Click and hold the left-click button (on your mouse/trackpad) at the beginning of the text (you wish to copy and paste).

3. Now, drag (while holding down the left-click button) to the end of the text (you wish to copy and paste).

4. Let go of the left-click button to complete the text highlight action.

5. On your keyboard, press CTRL + C (to copy), then go to the area/text field where you would like to paste the highlighted text.

6. Left-click on the area you wish to paste the text, then press CTRL + V (to paste).


Alternatively, you can follow steps 1 - 4 and do the following: 

  • Right-click the highlighted text and select ‘Copy'.
  • Click where you want to paste.
  • Right-click again and select ‘Paste’.
